Not bad, was expecting quite a bit more in the building. Exhibits are great, the kids play area outside is quite large and there's plenty of parking.
Great little spot with some cool fossils and bones and a lot of history around Alberta.
Also seems like a great spot for kids
Very educational and fascinating. You would need a couple of hours to cover the walk through .... well organized with live working workshop ... kids "bone bed" that even adults can have fun. Theater, cafeteria, and gift shop included.
Interesting displays nicely presented, food at the Cafe was very good.
Took the kids for an outing on Saturday. The displays are interactive and there is lots of things to touch and feel to immerse you in the experience. There were quite a few broken displays though, which sad because it's likely the public that caused that.
They were hosting a scavenger hunt with Halloween candy as a prize and the kids got super excited to play.
Gift shop was well stocked as well. Nice that they also have a Cafe there.
Great place for the kids to learn, play and enjoy some shopping which was very affordable. The items in the gift store are very fitting and not expensive at all which I assumed it would be. The playground is wonderful and you can watch the kids play while you eat at the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was delicious and has something on the menu for everyone. I cannot wait to take them back.
My friend and I visited this little museum on a whim and were not disappointed! While it's not large, there are some great displays and lots of good educational information about Alberta's fossils and even a bit about Alberta's oil fields.
The little cafe was great! The service was fast and friendly and the food was great.
The gift shop had SO many things and everything was very reasonably priced.
If you ever make a trip to northern Alberta, I highly recommend visiting this fun little museum (and if you have kids, they'll love the outdoor playground!) It's just south of Beaverlodge (which, since you're in the area anyways, you really should stop and visit the giant Beaver!)
To the gentleman who was running the ticket area and gift shop, and to the wonderful waitress working this weekend, THANK you for making our trip fun!
Was a really neat experience. We have teen/adult children and they all enjoyed it as much as I'm sure young ones do. Really educational. I would recommend going on a weekday though as we went on a weekend and the lab wasn't open so we weren't able to see the actual fossils being worked on etc. But still absolutely worth while. And the cost isn't nearly what I expected. It was really reasonable.
